Lauren Graham was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Donna Grant and Lawrence Graham an industry lobbyist in the field of candy. Lauren Graham has Irish, English and Scottish descent. Her mother hails from the American South and her father from New York. Lauren was born to Northern Virginia, USA. (Fairfax, Arlington, Great Falls, VA). The school she graduated from was Langley High School, McLean, VA. She graduated from Barnard College, with a bachelor's degree in English. She was a graduate of Southern Methodist University in acting with a Master's Degree. She was the sole caregiver for her father. At the age of five, her parents split up. As a child, she was destined to be a jockey, however her height prevented it. She travelled extensively with her dad during her childhood. In elementary school, she discovered acting.
